Hoops for Health

Year 5 and 6 enjoyed 3 super sessions with professional basketball players from the Chetser based basketball team Cheshire Phoenix. The head coach and two players joined the children for the whole afternoon.

The children were split into three groups and took part in activities that explored healthy eating, anti-smoking and basketball control.

At the end of the afternoon, all the children were given information and FREE tickets to the teams next home game.

Finally, a HUGE well done to Freddie for winning a signed basketball!

Super summer homework!

Wow!! I was very impressed with all of the homework that was completed over the summer break. The children were encouraged to look at our new topic of journeys. We had a wide range of homework including artwork, PowerPoint presentations, fact files and models.  Please take a look through the homework below.

Planning our diary entries

For the last couple of weeks, year 5 have been working hard with Miss Ogden to read the book: There's a boy in the girls' bathroom.

We have been planning diaries using the boxing up method and have practiced using our plan to read our diary out loud.

Check back soon for our diaries!

Music Concert

Wow!! What a super music concert. Well done to Year 4 and 5 for performing. I was very impressed and think you all did a fab job. Make sure you keep up the hard work and practice. Thank you too to all of the parents and family who came to support us. It was great to see so many of you there.

Beatrice 17th March

Photos are in! The pictures below show Beatrice in flight with a big fish and her current roost site along the river in France. She's expected to stay here for a couple more weeks before continuing her journey.

Beatrice 12th March

Beatrice continues to rest in the area surrounding the River Adour, but due to recent flooding in this part of France she is having to travel further each day to find fish. Currently there are 2 ornithologists (people who study birds) in France tracking her movements and taking pictures - hopefully we'll be able to see them soon!

Beatrice 9th March

Since the end of January, Beatrice has travelled across the whole of Spain and on 3rd March crossed the Pyrenees mountains into France. On 4th March she continued her journey to her favourite stop-over on the River Adour. Keep checking for more updates on her journey home!

Zoo Lab

Year 5 enjoyed a visit from Zoo Lab, where we learned about animals from a rainforest habitat. The children really appreciated the opportunity to touch a snake, a cockroach, and even a giant African land snail! They were also able to view a tarantula and a stick insect (from the safety of the keeper's hands!).
