Reading time!

Today, year 4 and 5 had the opportunity to read with their playground buddies! They enjoyed it very much and are looking forward to more exciting adventures in the future. 

Big Maths!!

During our Big Maths sessions, the children worked hard to use halving and doubling to solve a range of problems. Well done year 5!!

 

Cheshire Phoenix Keeping healthy workshop

We had a great afternoon today working with the team from Cheshire Phoenix! We took part in 3 workshops about the dangers of smoking, the importance of a healthy diet and of course some basketball skills! 

Excellent English work...

Earlier in the week, Year 5 completed some super English work linked to our book The Water Tower. The children worked in small teams to use a combination of common and abstract nouns to create some wonderful sentences. Well done year 5!!

 

 

 

 

Author visit - Antony Lishack

Year 5 enjoyed a super morning with the author Antony Lishack. During the morning, Antony shared from his own experiences and inspired the children to think about a gift to the world. The children's work is then going to be published in a book that will be available for World Book Day.

Welcome to Year 5.  I am really looking forward to the year ahead.  We will have some fun, work hard and have an enjoyable year! 

Fairground rides - DT

Year 5 worked extremely hard to design, make and evaluate some super fairground rides. You all worked well to make some super rides linking to our short topic of Ancient Greece. Well done Year 5!

Conquest and initiative exercises

Today we played laser quest in a huge inflatable and had great fun! We also went down on the big field and took part in some team games. 

Mini Olympics

Today, year 5 and 6 took part in a mini Olympics together. We competed against each other in some very amusing races and competitions!
